Do you wish you had
an easier time keeping up with recent developments
in international law as they might affect your American
clients? Does your law school or firm library pride
itself in collecting current international materials?
Convinced that 'yes' was the answer to both
questions, we thought it was time for a new international
law newsletter, one with particular value to U.S.
lawyers, judges and teachers. Since 1995, we have
been calling it 'International Law Update.'
The Update briefs you each month on the most significant
domestic and foreign legal developments in the fields
of public and private international law. It emphasizes
influential international agreements, statutes, and
judicial opinions. The Update also reports on major
legal action taken by the European Union, the largest
single trading bloc, when it will have a likely impact
upon American interests.
Some
specifics about the Update
International Law Update
reports on recent international opinions of U.S. and
leading foreign and international courts, on leading
cases from the European Court of Justice and the European
Court of Human Rights, and the World Trade Organization
rulings. Frequent subjects include applications of
the Hague Evidence and Service Conventions, the contents
of major intergovernmental commercial and trade agreements,
cases dealing with sovereign immunity and enforcement
of judgments, international jurisdiction, choice of
law and the enforcement of judgments, and significant
changes in public and private international law that
may affect American interests at home and abroad.
Thus far, the Update has reported on over 2000 items.
Transnational Law Associates,
LLC, has been publishing International Law Update
since October 1995. Each issue of the Update has 16
pages. In addition, subscribers receive two indices
each year (including a cumulative index with the December
issue that covers the entire twelve months).
